Snake River, South Fork Fishing trip

Saturday the 13th got up at 330am, yay the alarm clock did it's job. Jim came to get me at 415 am and then we where off on I-15 heading to Idaho Falls Idaho. To stay awake we talked about everything from politics to religion. Three hours later we exited I-15 in Idaho Falls and headed to Swan Valley. An hour later we where checking into the little cabin, and on the water around 10am or so. We floated the river for the next 7 hours finding fishing holes on the way. We caught mostly Rainbow Trout and a few Yellowstone Cutthroat trout, both very pretty, non stocked fish.

The next day was freezing in the morning so we didn't get on the water until 1030, but we where rewarded with even better fishing on the smaller stretch. Jim always catches more than me, but I was still catching them. The first hole we pulled in 8 fish, next few holes Jim slayed them and my worms where somehow inferior. Soon we made it to a covergance where several swift currents met together. We both caught a few, then I snagged a pretty big rainbow, it turned out to be the biggest fish of the trip.

This was a great time fishing and hanging out with Jim, we had a ton of fun. Fishing is just an extra when it comes to amazing scenery. We saw bald Eagles, Ospreys, rolling mountains. We where on the edge of Targhee National Forest.

Came home around 8pm suday night tried, sunburnt, and relaxed from being in some of the most beautiful country. Now for the next advanture, taking Jake!
